Should I Waive or Deduct an Absence in Payroll Analysis?
When an employee has an absence, late or undertime in a cut-off, Payroll Analysis lets you decide whether it comes off their pay. Waiving means the employee keeps that pay. Anything you leave is deducted when the payroll runs.
To waive or deduct
- From the sidebar, click "Payroll," then "Payroll Analysis."
- Tick the items you mean to pay, for example an approved day off.
- Click "Waive deductions," check the list, then click "Confirm, waive."
- Leave everything else as it is and click "Run Payroll." If the payroll has already run, click "Review Computation," then "Accept & recompute." The items you left are deducted, so pay matches the time actually worked.
To change your mind
Before the cut-off is locked, hover over the green "Waived" tag, click "Undo Deduction," then "Yes, undo." The payroll recomputes on its own.
Tip: SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG are worked out when the payroll runs. To change a payslip, change the waiver or the attendance (then click "Re-run" in "Computation & Payslips") instead of editing payslip lines. Editing a line updates the tax and totals, but not these contributions.
